It’s that time of year where most of us evaluate our lives and consider areas we’d like to improve.

So, if you want to take a load off and let the pros handle the work, give us a call.
In the meantime, let’s review a couple things that you can do yourself to keep your home looking its best.
Step One: Identify the “What”
Your first order of business is to determine what will need to be cleaned. To do this, make a simple list. Yours might include things like:
- Master bedroom
- Kids rooms
- Guest room
- Master bath
- Guest bath
- Main floor half bath
- Laundry room
- Dining room
- Living room
Whatever areas your home includes, if they need to be cleaned, they should go on your list.
Step Two: Plan Out the “When”
Now that you’ve made your list of areas to be cleaned, it’s time to map out when you’ll tackle each specific area. Pull out a calendar or planner and start assigning tasks to different days of the week.
Be realistic about how long each task in each area will take. Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many tasks on any given day. If you aren’t careful, you’ll take on too much and won’t be able to maintain your schedule.
Some tasks should be done daily. Things like putting the dishes away. Other things might be weekly. And still others could be monthly or even semiannually. Whatever you determine as your schedule, put it on paper and post it somewhere where you’ll be reminded regularly.
Step Three: When in Doubt, Call the Pros at Flacare
Don’t take on more than you can handle. The whole point of making a new year’s resolution is to follow through. It takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to maintain a clean home. If you’re leading a busy life, you may not have that time available. And the last thing you want to do is compromise what little free time you have.
Ask yourself: What is your time worth? And then think through how much time you would need to spend cleaning to do the job right. Finally, think about whether you’re really making a smart decision by trying to take it all on yourself. If you’re interested in exploring the possibility of professional, reliable, trained and background-checked residential cleaning help, there’s only one call to make — Flacare Services.
